Moulsford is a small Thames-side village on one of the prettiest stretches of the River Thames in the extreme north-east of the Berkshire Downs opposite the village of South Stoke.

Location map:

The parish church is the small Church of St. John the Baptist which was almost completely rebuilt in the early 19th century on the old foundations of the original early 13th century church. All that remaines of the original building is the west wall with its lancet window.

To the south of the village, on the site of the old ferry service to South Stoke, is the former waterfront inn known as the Beetle and Wedge.

The village is also home to a successful independant day school, Cranford House, which comprises a nursery and lower school, junier school and senior school and caters for girls betweenthe ages of 3 and 16 and boys between 3 and 7.

Some scenes from the popular TV series Midsomer Murders have been filmed in the village of moulsford.
